Explore the elaborate Bionicle storyline with the Lego Bionicle Piraka Stronghold set. The set comes with 648 pieces and a full-color, illustrated instruction booklet that diagrams model construction in 59 steps with multiple ministeps along the way. Piraka characters enter the fort through the mouth of a fearsome mask. Retractable teeth form bars over the entrance to keep the good guys out. The stronghold is defended by a clever mechanism that loads and shoots plastic marbles, er, zamor spheres about eight feet in distance. Our favorite feature, though, was a red LED brick with a tiny lens that focuses the light into a pretend laser sure to wreak pretend devastation. Inside the box you'll find nine numbered bags of parts, two plastic bases, a Piraka mask, and instructions. Numbered parts bags make it easier to build the set in stages since the numbers correspond to discreet sections of the building diagrams. Also included is an illustrated block inventory with part numbers, in case you ever need to re-order a replacement block. --Porter B. Hall
